It’s officially November which means the stores are stocking Christmas decorations, the radio is playing carols, and it’s time to start thinking about the festivities of the Holiday season. This week we are teaming up with J&L interiors to make the holidays more fun and easier than ever. The lovely and talented ladies at J&L are working closely with our team this year to choose the finishing elects of the Highgate in Creighton Farms. This new home was designed with entertaining in mind so we wanted to keep with the theme of great space planning and bring you some tips from the experts on how to get the most out of your holiday space.
Create small intimate conversational areas for your guests. Your guests will be able to enjoy catching up away from the louder areas of the party. A fireplace is an inviting and comfortable gathering spot.
Have multiple small side tables for your guests to be able to set drinks down while visiting, eating hors d’ouevres or mingling. This will deter your guests from using mantles, pianos, arm rests and other more delicate surfaces to set their drink down.
For easy access to your drinks and appetizers, have separate stations for drinks, food and desserts. It will keep the party fluid and encourage your guests to move around and mingle.
Create a focal point in your home for guests to gather around. I love to place a Christmas tree visible from multiple rooms, or a beautifully decorated mantle. These area are also wonderful areas for photos and selfies!
Make the space festive with holiday traditions you can share with your guests such as game areas, holiday music or movies. I love a festive piano, especially when there is someone to play it. Background music and games do wonders to encourage conversation, and who doesn’t love a holiday carol sing-a-long?
What are your top tips for creating the perfect entertaining space? Tell us in the comments!
